Norma Rodger
It is with great sadness the family announce the passing of Norma Rodger, at home in Atikokan, on February 1, 2014, with her loving family by her side.
Norma was born in New Liskeard on January 5, 1931. After her marriage with Earl in 1948, they moved to Atikokan to raise their family.
Norma was a master of all crafts; whether it was knitting, crocheting, needlework, decorating cakes, or doing puzzles. We are especially proud of our Christmas stockings that she made personally for each of us. She had a special place in her heart for animals and took great enjoyment with our numerous pets throughout the years.
Norma was a kind and gentle person who touched the hearts of everyone who knew her. She will be sadly missed by all.
She will be sadly missed by Earl, her husband of 65 years, children Gwen (Pat), Susan, Terry (Eva), Glenna (Fred), and Lori (Bob), grandchildren Bill (Kara), Melissa (Todd), Justin and Nicole, great grandchildren Kaden and Ben, several nieces, nephews, brother-in-law, and sisters-in-law.
Norma was predeceased by her parents, Jack and Lorna MacLean, sister Janet Nordlund, and son-in-laws Jerry Blanchard and Bob Percy.
As per Norma’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will occur at a later date. In her memory, a donation may be made to the Atikokan Royal Canadian Legion Branch #145 or a charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made in care of www.greenfuneralhomefortfrances.com.
