Antonietta (Nina) Bertoldo
It is with great sadness the family of Antonietta (Nina) Bertoldo, 87, announce her passing on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at the Atikokan General Hospital extended care.
Nina was born June 6, 1926 in Catantazaro, Calabria, Italy to her parents Josephina and Alessandro. She was the youngest child of 17 children.
In 1947, Nina immigrated to Canada. She resided in St Catherines, Ontario until 1957. She made her home in Atikokan since then. In the 1950s and 1960s she was employed at the Hudson Bay Department Store as a seamstress. She also worked at Shop Easy and as an assistant at Daniella’s Dress Shoppe. In 1962 she took up the profession of sewing from her home and became a full-time wife to her husband Gino. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends. Her true passion family, cooking and sharing the fruits of her labours with anyone who would visit.
Antonietta will be forever missed her daughter Diana and grandson Matthew.
She has been predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Gino, in 2013, by her mother , father and all of her siblings. She is the only family member who immigrated to Canada.
Funeral services will take place at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Dorothy St. on Friday, February 21 at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Atikokan General Hospital or Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
