Tony Zerebeski

With heartfelt sorrow we announce the passing of Tony Zerebeski on Sunday June 26, 2016 after a short illness.

He was a wonderful husband, great father, and a very proud grandfather (Dedo). He was born on October 23, 1946 in Atikokan, Ontario, where he received his education. He married Mary Jean (Maki) on November 21, 1969 and they had three children. Tony worked for Steep Rock Iron Mines until it closed in 1979, when the family moved to Edson, Alberta.

Tony loved decorating for Christmas, which for him lasted all year long. He also enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, but his biggest enjoyment was his grandchildren.

Tony leaves behind, his loving wife of 46 years Mary Jean of Edson Alberta, sons William (Joanie) of Atikokan, Nicholas and partner Jolene Hunter, of Edson, and daughter Lee-Ann (Brian) Bischke of Edson. The grandchildren are Tony and Robyn Zerebeski of Atikokan, Brett Bryldt, Kiley and Ashley Bischke, and step-grandchildren Miranda Bischke, Chance, Jordan, and Cole Boarer, all of Edson. Tony is also survived by his sisters Mary Wiersema, of Atikokan, Roselyn (William) Gross, of Vernon, B.C., Lily (Dennis) Howard of Beamsville, Ontario, and Eva (Chris) Speck of Atikokan, and brothers John (Liz) of Logan Lake, B.C., and Raymond (Wendy) of Kamloops, B.C.

He was pre-deceased by his parents William and Annie Zerebeski, brother Randy and brother-in-law Harry Wiesema.

Cremation has taken place and a service was held in Edson, Alberta on July 2. A service will be held in Atikokan at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
