Richard King
Richard Melvin King, 56, passed away June 14, 2016 at Red Deer Hospital in Alberta after a short illness.
Richard was born August 1, 1959, in Atikokan, Ontario, and lived here through his childhood and youth. After a stint in Alberta for work, he came back to Atikokan and worked for many years with Stan Bates Construction. In 1998, he headed back out west, Alberta again, working for Nana Contracting at Diavik Diamond Mines and Snap Lake Diamond Mine.
Richard enjoyed hunting and fishing, going on trips to Mexico, and working around rock crushers.
He is survived by his mother, Verna King, daughter Sherri King, son Shawn King, sister Patty McMullen, brother Darren King, grandchildren Christine, Alex, Harleigh and Leighton, niece Melissa Bates, nephews Kyle Bates, Tylor McMillan, and Chad McMillan.
Funeral services will be held at a later date.
