John Jergen Mosley

The family of John Jergen Mosley, 71, is sad to announce he passed away quickly on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at his home in Atikokan.

John had many different and exciting jobs in his career, but he was most proud to be a member of the Thunder Bay Professional Firefighters Association for 20 years. In his retirement, he moved to Atikokan, where he enjoyed spending time with his family, his Uncle Glen Armstrong, and his brother and best friend Jim.

John was an outdoorsman at heart and loved fishing, hunting and being in the bush. But most of all, he lit up at just the thought of his grandbabies. Big John, as he was known to many, had a huge heart and was the most honest and upfront person you could ever meet. He will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him.

John is survived by his daughter Kiersten Mosley and granddaughter Emma, daughter Suzanne Chaval (Karl) and granddaughter Abigail, and his loving ex-wife Brigitte Mosley; his brothers Harold (Phyllis), Eric, Jim (Shirley), Lorne, and his sister Judy Qualie (Al – deceased). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their children, as well as a large extended family. John was predeceased by his parents Phoebe and Jergen Mosley, mother and father-in-law Hilda and Helmut Purrucker, and niece Krysta Mosley.

Cremation has taken place and in the spring of 2015, there will be a memorial service, as per his wishes. If friends and family desire, in lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family. On-line condolences may be made through www.nwfainc.com
