Julia Peacosh
Julia Ann Peacosh, 93, of Atikokan, passed away Sunday, October 26, 2014.
She was born August 24, 1921, one of nine children of Belle and Zachary Sloychuk in the Hazel Dell District of Saskatchewan.
She was united in marriage with Peter Peacosh on September 14, 1941. They moved to Atikokan in 1954 where they raised four children. Known for her happy demeanour and smiling face, Julie will be truly missed.
Julia leaves to mourn her passing sons Rick (Iris) of Surrey, BC, and Robert (Korri, Sara and Allen) of Atikokan, daughters Kathy (Bruce Foy) of Atikokan, and Rita Gagné (family and friend David); grandchildren Cyle, Nikki, Chylo, Mike, Andy, Adam, Alisha and Derek; and great-grandchild Paytyn.
She was pre-deceased by her parents, and all of her siblings: Mike, John, Steve, and Nick Peacosh, Anne Rodnick, Eva Sloychuk, Mary Jensen and Irene Kuntz.
A celebration of Julia’s life was held at the Royal Canadian Legion in Atikokan on October 31. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or AGH Extended Care would be appreciated by the family.
