Jessica Johnson
With great sadness the family of Jessica Sunshine Edith Johnson, 17, announces the passing of our dear, sweet angel on October 11, 2014 in Emo, Ontario.
Jessie was born in Thunder Bay, February 22, 1997, grew up in Atikokan, and was most recently living in Emo. Jessie had attended Atikokan High School, and was in grade 12 at Fort Frances High School. She was very active and loved sports including volleyball, broomball, and hockey, as well as anything out at the farm. She finished the Outers program at AHS in the spring of 2014, which culminated with a 12-day canoe trip through Quetico Park. Jessie was a caring, independent young woman, mature beyond her years, who loved to cruise in her VW Beetle.
Jessie leaves to mourn with loving memories her parents Sandra Doucette and Chris Johnson, her brothers Joe, Johnny, Jason (Lindsay), and Eli, as well as her sister Erika (Brock). She is also survived by grandparents Ken & Marie Johnson and Don & Violet Doucette, as well as aunts and uncles Donna (Jimmy), Tammy (Lance), Terry, Brent (Robin), and Cheryl (Steve). Jessie will be deeply missed by her cousins Jamie, Donnie, Nick (Nikita, Dessa), Brodie, Dylan, Jayde, Jacob (Carolyn, Quinn), Beau (Lindsay, Eli, Ethan), Rachel, Brendan and Cole. She was also loved by nieces Kodi, Hayden, and Navy, as well as her countless friends from Atikokan, Fort Frances, and living across the country.
A memorial service was held October 17 at the Riverview United Church, Atikokan. In lieu of flowers, donations would be greatly appreciated to a memorial fund at the RBC Atikokan in trust for Joe and Johnny Johnson. Online condolences may be offered at www.northridgefuneralhome.com.
