Tim McEvoy

It is with deep sadness the family announces the passing of Timothy Angus McEvoy, 58, at the Atikokan General Hospital on Wednesday, May 28, 2014.

Tim was born on April 17, 1956 in Fort Frances to the late Tom and Ruby McEvoy. After he graduated from Fort Frances High School, he began his mechanics apprenticeship. He had worked as a class A and heavy equipment mechanic at numerous businesses throughout Northwestern Ontario, including the Sapawe Mill until its closure. He then worked in Pickle Lake until his illness. He loved fishing, hunting, camping, and spending time at his cabin in Mine Centre. He liked to putter around and loved anything that came with a motor.

He had a great sense of humour and a knack for making people laugh. He was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He was very fond of participating in the barter system. He also had a passion for cooking, but frowned upon cleaning up the dirty dishes afterwards.

Tim left to cherish his memory is his wife Sandy, his brother Glenn (Carol Anne) and their children Michael (Ashley) and Lindsay (John) Krishka and their two sons Jack and Henry, his sister Sue (Gerry) Hall and their daughter Ruby.

Tim was predeceased by his parents, Tom and Ruby McEvoy.

A funeral service was held Monday, June 2, at the Faith Lutheran Church, with Pastor Keith Blom officiating. Interment will take place in Little Falls Cemetery. Pallbearers were Glenn McEvoy, Glenn Boyda, Dave Kerr, Gerry Hall, Gerry Campbell and Bernie Cox.

In memory of Tim, donations can be made to his wife Sandy Laurence in care of the Royal Bank in Atikokan. On-line condolences may be made in care of www.GreenFuneralHomeFortFrances.com
