Mrs. Laura Chabot (neé Buteau), 99, passed away peacefully at the Atikokan General Hospital, November 18, 2013.
Laura was born in St- Prosper, Quebec, and lived in Hallebourg, northern Ontario for 20 years before coming to Atikokan.
Laura leaves behind her younger sister Jeannette, her son Maurice (Margaret) of Atikokan, daughters Monique (Georges Painchaud) of Magdalen Islands, Quebec, Claudette (Steve Staresina) of Okanagan, BC, and Michèle (Tim Alderton) of Red Lake, Ontario, and many nephews, nieces and grandchildren.
She survived her husband Philippe, who died in 1967, and five children, Clément, Carmen, Aurore, Jean-Paul and Jeannine.
The family extends special thanks to the hospital staff for their generosity and the good care they gave her all through these years. Thanks more particularly to her son Maurice and his wife Margaret who stayed close to her and cherished her with care and love during the last period of her life.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 28, at 1 pm at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, Atikokan. Memorial donations may be made to the Atikokan General Hospital.
