Monique Robinson

Monique Robinson

Monique Robinson, 69, of Atikokan, passed away peacefully in the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre on Thursday, October 24, 2013.

Monique was a kind, warm-hearted, bingo-playing shopaholic. She loved to cook and was an excellent baker. She had a soft spot for animals and always took time to feed the ones that came into her yard. Monique was also a long-time member of the Atikokan Catholic Women’s League.

Monique will be lovingly remembered by her husband Jim, her children Terry (Charlie), Billy (Kathy), Dwayne (Marilyn) and Tracy (Dwayne), her grandchildren Rochelle (Brent), Brittany, Brandon, Cory, Andre, Dominique (Micah), Adam, Ashley, Amber, Brandon, Kristen, Shelby, Hannah and Haleigh, her great grandchildren Eva, Hayden, Brenner, Kailey, Kolten, Adalynn, Anika, and Keedan, as well as her mother Evelyn Toffan. Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. She was predeceased by her father Morris Lapointe, her step-father Ernie Toffan and her sister Rajanne.

Funeral services were held October 30 at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, Atikokan. Pallbearers were Kenny House, George Telge, Jack Russow, Cory Stratton, Dwayne DeGagne, Brandon Marr and Charlie Rounds. Honourary pallbearers were Betty Bisset, Karen Kisskia, Shirley Thompson, Patty Leblanc, Angele Belley, Diane Williams and Jackie Mason.
