Dorothy Mildred Thompson

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Dorothy Mildred Thompson (nee Angus) at the Atikokan General Hospital Extended Care Wing on October 19, 2013

Dorothy was born in Fort Frances, Ontario on October 28, 1923. She moved to Atikokan in 1952 where she lived until her passing. She was a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed time with her large family and being outside working in her gardens.

She will always be remembered by her daughters Elaine Hnatiuk, Doris Thompson, and Marlene Lees (Scott) and sons Dale (Carolanne) and Roy Thompson. Also missing her will be 17 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren, her brother Arnold Angus and sisters Joyce Jackson (Len), Rita Westover and Lois Brusven (Gene).

She was predeceased by her parents Leslie and Mildred Angus; husband George Thompson, sons Gordon and Glen Thompson, brothers John, Ellwood, and Russell Angus.

A celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 from 1 until 3:30 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion in Atikokan.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Atikokan General Hospital Extended Care Wing, 120 Dorothy Street, Atikokan, Ontario, P0T 1C0
