Kathleen Shields
Kathleen Elizabeth ‘Kay’ Shields (nee Andrews), 90, passed away peacefully at Nipissing Manor on September 13, 2013.
Kathleen was born in Bruce Station, Ontario to William and Catherine Andrews, the oldest of six children. She was a beloved teacher with the former Nipissing Public School Board for nearly forty years and an active supporter of many charities and community organizations.
Kay was the beloved wife of the late Robert McIntosh ‘Bob’ Shields, and will be deeply missed by her children Eva Lyn (John Munroe) of Atikokan, Randy of North Bay, and Rick (Rebecca) of Ottawa; granddaughters Kristin, Sarah, Rowan and Andie; sister Jean Grasley (John, deceased) of Bruce Station and brother Bill Andrews (Amy) of MacTier. Kay was predeceased by her sister Wilna Lawrence (Arnold, deceased) and brothers Lawrence Andrews (Lois) and Donald Andrews (Betty).
A funeral service was held September 20 at the Martyn Funeral Home in North Bay. Interment will take place at ForestLawnCemetery.
