Donna Leslie Beyko
Following a brief illness, Donna Leslie Beyko, 76, passed away at home in Atikokan on Tuesday, November 18.
Donna was born July 9, 1938 in Digby Nova Scotia, lived her life in various places, but finally settled in Atikokan. She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses at a convention in New York City in 1953, and was associated with the congregation in Atikokan since she moved here in 2004. Many will remember her efforts to help others learn about their Creator and his wonderful purposes as she volunteered her time as an active member of the congregation.
She will be remembered too for her love of animals, especially horses, having owned several while living in Nova Scotia, and even enjoyed riding until recently in Kakabeka. She looked forward to the fulfillment of God’s promise of a new earth, when “God will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither mourning nor outcry, nor pain be anymore”. This was the good new she shared with many.
The dear wife of Dennis, she also is survived by her daughter Zita Kempf of Atikokan, one sister Twilah, and three brothers, Matthew (Nancy), Alfred (Tarja), and Beecher (Andrea), as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A memorial service for Donna was held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Atikokan on November 22. Shawn Main of Thunder Bay, a family friend, officiated. Online condolences may be made in care of www.GreenFuneralHomeFortFrances.com.
