Brian Thomas Armstrong
Brian Armstrong, 65, passed peacefully on Wednesday, April 8, 2015.
Brian will be dearly missed by wife Betty, son Dale (Sonya), daughter Holly, and his grandchildren Sasha, Konstantine, and Valentina, who were the light of his life. Just the thought of these three brought a big smile to his face.
Brian will forever hold a special place in the hearts of his siblings Coleen (Dan), Lorraine (Colin), Marilyn (Brian), Pat (Sandy), Greg (Noreen), Kevin (Teresa) and Tim; brothers-in-law Jim Brooks and Peter Brooks (Shelly); and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by parents, Eileen and Terry Armstrong.
Brian left his mark around Atikokan through his work as a carpenter, as a part of ‘Armstrong Brothers Building’ and then through union work at Valerie Falls, North Star School, and St. Pat’s School, to name a few.
Brian loved the outdoors, and this was obvious in the home he, along with his family, carved out of the forest. He spent as much time as he could fishing the Floodwaters in the summer, or ice fishing in the winter.
His hammer lay still and his saw silent.
A memorial service will be held at St. Patrick’s Church in Atikokan on Tuesday, April 28 at 11 am. Brian’s ashes will be interred in ‘The Portage’ at Little Falls Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Brian’s honour to either the Salvation Army or the Atikokan General Hospital.
